Political Art

I met William about a year ago when I was in an art supplies store shopping for a friend. A few days after he helped me select some paper and pens, he came up to me at a local coffee shop and asked how the art supplies had worked out. Since then we've been nodding and smiling and occasionally verbal friends who see each other a couple times a week.

William frequently parks himself at a coffee table with coffee and a roll, and gets out his sketch book and drawing materials. I occasionally take a peek at what he's drawing, and have always liked what I've seen.

A few days ago I encountered William in the usual context, and had a interesting thought.
"Do you accept low-budget commissions?" I asked. When he replied that he did, I said that I'd like a small drawing of a well-known political candidate. "How do you feel about him, positive or negative?" William sensibly asked, and I said that my feelings were not positive.

So with no more direction or arrangement than that, William drew for me the attached picture. I was both pleased and impressed, hope you are too.

The picture belongs to William and me, so there are no copyright issues with which to be concerned; please share / forward / copy as much as you wish.
