How about a book entitled:
The Rise of Conservatism and The Decline of America.
Do we suppose what we see happening in America today is what doomed the major empires of the past? That the backward-looking, protect-my-money, xenophobic, morality-preaching entrenched power base gradually choked the life out of the previously innovative, forward-looking, can-do attitude of the Nation?

A reader writes: "I think that referring to 'Conservatism' may not be as accurate as it could be. I prefer 'an ugly, narcissistic, arrogantly ignorant Regressivism.'"
