Three of the greatest players in professional basketball history are Larry Bird, age 63, Magic Johnson, 60, and Michael Jordan, 57.
The Democratic primary makes me think about what this year's basketball All-Star game would be like if Bird, Magic and Jordan decided to play. They could use their money, their experience, their fame, their knowledge and their friends to force the young and deserving players to sit on the bench--and then go out and lose the game because it's not a place for tired old men.
Michael Bloomberg is 78. Joe Biden is 77. Bernie Sanders is 78.
Today is the day that California, Texas and other states will pick which of the tired old men will lose the election in November.
