No paid vacation? You must be an American.
Another less-than-flattering statistic that somehow gets left out of the discussion when all the chest-thumping blowhards are going on and on about how great America is:
America is the ONLY advanced economy IN THE WORLD that does not mandate some amount of paid vacation for workers.
Bravo for us! We're so advanced! Get the government off the backs of business! The market always knows best!

That was one of the things that my ex-wife and I used to fight about when we ran our own business. I gave our employees 6 paid holidays and 2 weeks paid vacation. She said that was too generous. I come from a blue-collar family, she came from white collar lineage.
