We're a Success!!

If the purpose of America is to enrich the rich and empower the powerful, then we are doing a hell of a job, people!!! Congratulations to us!!!

If that's not America's purpose, then we're really screwing up.

But don't tell anybody, since Americans are irrevocably wedded to the idea that theirs is the greatest country in the history of the world. Just ignore our incarceration rates, the amount of money we spend on weapons, the number of hungry children, life in the inner city and on the reservations and in the poor parts of the country, the wars we propagate and the countries we destroy, our murder and violent crime rates, etc. Forget about all that stuff and stay focused on how good life is for the five or ten or twenty percent at the top, and be sure to repeat frequently: America is the greatest country in the world! (with the exclamation point).  It's especially gratifying to say that when stepping over a homeless person.
