Although American dominance in world markets has slipped a bit, there's one field in which we have maintained and even increased our edge: weapons. We sell vastly more weapons, of all types and including peripheral goods and services designed to make killing more efficient (e.g., ships and training), than any other country in the world. Probably many times more.
This is yet another way in which America communicates to the world what our real priorities are.
